Democrats pull out race card in sequester game!! What the hell?!?!

...."Congressional Black Caucus members, who are all Democrats, flipped out the race card in the talks on the sequester Monday and said minorities will be unfairly and disproportionately impacted.

“Sequestration will impact everyone, but it will have a particularly harmful effect on communities of color who were hit first and worst by the great recession, and have yet to significantly feel the effects of the recovery,” said Rep. Barbara Lee, in The Hill. The CBC also said women would be disproportionately hurt by the $85 billion planned cuts, The Hill reports. The reason? More women and minorities hold government jobs, CBC members said. And more will be hurt by cuts to unemployment insurance. African-Americans are more likely to work in the public sector, where the jobs are going to be cut,” said Del. Donna Christensen, who represents the Virgin Islands, in The Hill. “We already have the highest unemployment, and will be severely hurt by the reduction in unemployment benefits...."

I am speechless!! I cannot for the life of me why they go and say this! Nothing like throwing more gas on the embers that burning with the racial tensions racking up in many cities, this could make it even worse! Ansd many think these sequester cuts will effect things such as "mandatory” programs as Medicaid, Social Security, welfare and food stamps. The sequester cuts are split between defense and non-defense spending. They include cuts to discretionary defense spending such as weapons purchases and base operations, but not military personnel and to both discretionary and non-discretionary domestic programs, everything from airport security to education aid to research grants.

Well the cuts to defense spending should limit use of the drones. Certain Americans can sleep better for awhile...

It's all they've got. These are 2% cuts, $85 billion from the budget. That's far less than the cost of 1 Solyndra. There are just trying to spread panic and division. Most ppl would agree that a leaner federal budget could mean a boost in the economy. A better economy would help everyone, including minorities.

This is business as usual. Don't actually try to fix the problem or come up with bipartisan solutions, just use this as rhetoric to divide and already divided nation even more.

They will use this sequester thing to inflict pain where they have the power to. This is why depending on government for so much is NEVER a good idea. What they give, they can always take away.

As has been mentioned in so many different forums, this isn't actually a cut. It's just a very small reduction in spending INCREASE. WE are still spending more this year than last year.

By the way, the end of April will mark 4 YEARS since the last budget was passed. Criminal.
