How old were your kids when they lost interest in toys?

I know my boys are older, but I honestly can't remember when the Hot Wheels & action figures got stored away. My house currently looks like a Toys R Us warehouse, but with my dau turning 11 soon, I don't think it will be that way for long. :(

  • I think about age 10 is when electronics started winning out over toys overall, but the fave few were played with for years later too. Things like Legos... I think my 28 year old son would still build Lego creations if I sent him a new set!! LOL

  • My dd packed away most of her toys around 10. But my 13 yo ds still plays with some of his stuff - he wouldn't admit it, but his stuff is still out because my 4 yo ds plays with it and I catch him sometimes.

  • At 16 my youngest was still building things with his erector set. His hot Wheels and action figures were on shelves in his room but he moved mostly to building models and dismantling electronics by about 12. I remember my sister put her Barbies away when she was 13 and my Mom cried and cried. She was 'the baby"

  • My 9 yr old is definitely still playing with toys. My just turned 12 yr old still plays with toys a lot, too, but I can't be sure if that's entirely because he wants to or partly because his brother still does. They are both starting to play more with electronics (computer games, Wii, etc.) and after getting a model building kit at Christmas, they've both really gotten into that, too.
