Is it bad for you to eat shrimp that was not deveined?

These are huge shrimp with a fairly large vein.

  • If they are that big, do yourself a favor and devein them. Take a knife, slice right down the line pull it out and rinse them before boiling. That goes for lobster too. On them it's down the tail section. Poo is not good eating!

  • if they are big, like 16-20 count,I wouldn't eat them without deveining them, it will affect the taste, but not hurt you.
