Just a couple things I found. Basically it is believed to be possible, but not known cases or proof from what I could find...

  • I'm pretty sure that they can't successfully breed, but I have no official info. Sorry and good luck!

This is all I could find. I guess no one has tried to crossbreed so it isn't fact one way or the other.

  • not for fact, but why not? they both are from the monkey species.... if they can breed a lion and tiger together why not a gorilla and chimp?

  • If we can make a "Liger", why not a "Chilla" or a "Gimp".

  • IMO I don't think they can, it seems to me that it would be like trying to breed a cat with a lion or a chihuahua with a wolf? IDK it just seems "not possible"
