How much would you offer a neighbor that cut your grass?

he was doing his yard and asked if i wanted him to cut down the weeds growing on the side/parts of the back of the house. i said sure if you don't mind, all i have is a riding lawn mower that my dad uses but he's been ill and hasn't been able to lately and i sure as hell don't know how to use that behemoth. so an hour or so later he's cut all of my grass and edged as well. and he's also taking care of the excess grass and dirt that accumulates from mowing all over the sidewalk. such a wonderful gesture! i was thinking $10, is that too little?

    Was going to say, depends on the situation. If he just up and did it without asking, that's his problem, not yours :P But since you said "yes please", I would definitely offer to pay him something.

  • I would ask him if he wanted me to pay him. And hope he said no. it is not like you asked him if he could mow it. He asked you. that makes a differance to me.
