Creative ideas how to turn a hanging light into a fantastic girlie wow light

will get one of these from hardware store

i already have a simple white canopy hanging over her bed now, her room pretty darn pink

need ideas how to make the light cord with bulb into something lightweigt, and safe, and super cool

  • We took one of those Japanese paper ball lampshades (cost next to nothing) then made 3 different sized simple butterfly motifs and used them to cut out lots of butterflies from old wallpaper (use the colour and design of your choice). Then we folded them in 2 (so they had a crease) and glued them all over the ball. Then we went a bit over the top and attached satin ribbon (thin satin ribbon costs next to nothing too and there are lots of cute colours) streamers to the bottom ...

  • How about putting a TuTu over a lampshade & hanging it with that bulb? I don't know how though. Maybe use a compact flourescent bulb so it doesn't get too hot?

  • Go to Home Depot or a lighting store and look for those cute lamp shades that clip onto the bulb. Or Google it. I have seen some nice ones. Keep it away from the canopy
