Please tell me someone else has done this so I can stop feeling like a bad mom :(

My son has half day kindergarten so I pick him up at 11:30 every day. Today I wasn't feeling good and fell asleep on the couch (not on purpose, otherwise I would have set an alarm), only to wake up to 4 missed calls from his school. I looked at the time and it was noon! I called immediately and picked him up, but now I feel like a terrible mother :( And im sure his teacher and office faculty don't think very highly of me either. Has anyone ever done this? Or am I the only awful one? :/

  • I've never done that, but I am not a good napper anyhow.

  • I've done it once or twice. It doesn't make you a bad mother, despite what anyone else might say.

Things happen. Hope you feel better soon.

  • I don't drive, but the person who was supposed to pick my daughter up from school fell asleep once and didn't arrive. The school called me, and I quickly arranged other transportation to get my daughter home. So it does happen.

  • I've never done it, but my friend did last week. The kids got out at 3: 30 and she didn't get there until 6 to get them.

Don't beat yourself up. Your not a bad mother. Shit happens.

  • I've spaced out completely that it was a minimum day and had the school call me to come get her. No big deal.

  • I remember someone posted the exact same story a while ago. I have never done that but I'm sure a lot of Mom's/Dad's get stuck in traffic & are late. I'd put the phone next to your head next time you take a nap.

  • I haven't done it. But I do have an every day alarm on my phone for a reminder to go get them.
