Little kids that do not speak clearly yet....

daughter (5.5) had a play date after school with a little boy from her class last year
daughter was wearing her new "high heels" (1/2 inch black patent leather)
-why school let her out without her winter boots on? do not know...anyway...
boy was running ahead of her in his winter boots
she told him a number of times that she can not run in her 'high heels'
(funny, she sounded like his wife when telling him to slow down and stop running)
when we get into the car, the boy asked why can you not run on high heels?
daughter at a loss, so i helped her out and said high heels are a girl thing
then i heard daughter say
" yeah, girls are into high heels and boys are just into boobs "

even the little boy said "what"?

of course she really said boys are into boots

i repeated with correct pronouncation

* had me laughing the whole way home

  • That's funny! My 5 year old granddaughter is speech delayed. Sometimes I can't understand what she says. She gets so frustrated with me.

  • i can usually understand exactly what she is saying
but this afternoon, i had to take a moment to realize she said boots
maybe because her statement was too true

  • Very cute!

One of our nephews only spoke Hebrew at 5, and also not always clearly. I'm pretty sure that there were times that I promised him a Ferrari when he grew up because I didn't always understand him. But nothing as classic as what your DD just said!
