Auto Insurance

We just found out our policy went up about $20. For no reason. We called and our guy said. Policies went up because they are loosing money. All policies are being raised because they are loosing money so every one is effected.   That is messed up.

  • Sounds like it is time to find a new insurance company. They'll be losing a lot more customers/money with raising rates like that.

  • We have shopped around before. We have been with this company for so long, no one else can beat their prices. Even though they seem expensive. Every one else is even more then them.

  • How is it messed up? They're a business. If they're losing money, they're going to want to increase their profits, and as an insurance company, the only way to do that is to raise rates.

Shop around for a better rate. I have GEICO and have never been unhappy with what I pay.

  • I have had Geico for years. I will see in May if the rates go up too much.

  • I had Progressive as my first company and it sucked and was super expensive. I've been with Geico for years and they have been great. I tried another company for a year because my husband convinced me to get a multiple policy discount but it really didn't compare to Geico, so I went back to Geico. Rates have barely gone up and it's usually only a few dollars for all these years. One of my past roommates also had Geico and his parked car got totaled by a sleeping driver and Geico made it so easy for him and basically gave him a check for a new car.

  • Is the $20/year or /month? If it's /year that's really not that much of an increase. It's actually reasonable. If it's /month that's a lot and I'd check around.
