Digestion health

I've had bloating for several months, and blood in my stool, also one side of my stomach looks lopsided.
I tried to get state insurance but I don't have 1300.00 to give to them up front. The local health clinic wants a couple hundred dollars before they will start tests.
My question is what could happen if I let this go without getting care?
If this was you would you go to the hospital ER?

  • Have you tried over the counter stuff like stool softer or ex-lax type stuff? To see if you are just backed up?

  • Blood in the stool is dangerous. If you go to the emergency room, you may be admitted to the hospital from there for tests. If you are admitted, you may become eligible for payment plans at the hospital through some kind of an indigent health plan in your state. This is nothing to mess around with.

  • If the blood is light or bright red, it's really nothing to worry about. It's when it's dark & almost black that you should be concerned.

  • Abeaverhausen is right. I was thinking of the black stuff in the stool; it almost looks like coffee grounds. Bright red blood may mean that you just have been straining to go or gotten a hemorrhoid.

  • my husband had blood and pain for almost a year before I finally got him to see a doctor for it- turned out he has ulcerative colitis. He has been on meds for it now for about 10 yrs.

I would definitely recommend figuring out some way to be seen about this
