Can you freeze potato salad?

Weird question, I know..
I bought a very large tub of potato salad at Costco a couple of days ago, and forgot all about it for a birthday party we were having. It's good until the 26th, but it's such a large amount, I'd like to freeze half if I could. Thanks!

  • Potatoes get pretty mushy when they are frozen, plus with the mayo.........I wouldn't freeze it.

  • I would think it'd be a bit gross. Probably very wet and soggy when defrosted. Yuck!

  • Cooked potatoes freeze terribly. I even take them out from stews and pot roast if I need to freeze it because they get all mushy and weird.

  • Even without the mayo, potatoes get mushy and gross when frozen. I'd pork out instead. Enjoy!
