Back in the Pioneer Days....

I wonder what it was like to be a mail order bride. Did they consummate the marriage on the wedding night or wait to get to know each other first.

  • Back then the women felt obligated to do it on their wedding night. Back in those days women were taught to obey their husband no questions asked.

  • They probably did what their husbands demanded of them.

  • Well, a marriage wasn't even considered legal until it was consummated, so I would think it didn't matter if they knew each other, and women were considered property, so men could just exercise their 'rights'.

  • I shudder to think what happened to some of those brides given the attitude of women being subservient to men. I suppose there were some men who were kind and waited, but I think the opposite is more likely.

  • I imagine they consummated the marriage on the wedding night. Getting a family started to help on the farm was important.

  • I'd say it would depend on what the man wanted. I couldn't even imagine.

  • I would imagine a bj would come on the wedding night. They would save the anal until they got to know each other better.
