What are the necessities when traveling with a 12 month old?

I know we need diapers, wipes and clothing. I don't want to overpack yet I don't want to need something when I get there and not have it.

  • i have a 12 mo old. I never leave home without her soft blanket. If you forget something you can always buy it. But if there is a "special" something they play with, sleep with, etc everyday....Do Not Forget It!

  • are you flying somewhere or driving? we flew last month with our one year old and we wouldnt have made it without an empty bottle that we filled with juice after we got through security. sucking on the bottle helped with the altitude change... and lots of snacks. we will be driving cross country with him next week and i am going to make sure he has his favorite toys and whatnot... something to take his mind off the fact that he will be in his car seat for 18 hours.

  • Take all necessities that you would use at home. Both of my children would get cranky when we were away from home. So I would make sure I would take a familiar toy or blanket, that would help calm them down.
