  • I believe that you can file an extension, but I don't know if it has to be done before the due date has passed or not.

  • You can file for an extension, but I believe any taxes owed are still due by April 15.

  • do you expect to owe money or get it back, either way to avoid a penalty you must file an extension, if you owe you can work out a payment plan with them.

  • I'm not sure about e returns. If it's for a year passed, like 2009, 2010, etc. - not the current filing year - your option is to go to a tax place like HR Block or a local tax guy and have them pull up that years forms and file that way.
