  • Poorly researched historical FICTION, not unlike that bible miniseries.

  • I am loving it. I know it isn't all that "accurate" but it is a TV show so...I guess that is to be expected

  • Unlike the bible minseries Vikings is NOT meant to be historically accurate. It is a fictional show and one I like even though it is NOT historically accurate. And how do we know what is historically accurate any way? It's not like we were there.

  • And how do we know what is historically accurate any way?

Because the religious texts, lays and documents of those people still survive today and are used by practitioners of their faith. That and the researched and documented evidence of several million historical and religious scholars...

And while historical fiction is not meant to be historically accurate, it is meant to be in the near ballpark. This show could be taking place in South America, Australia or New York City and be just as authentic. All they'd have to do is change the costumes.
