Does anyone know the law in Texas about children riding in the front seat of a car?

I think you have to be a certain age or height. I can not find it online. Thanks!

  • This is the best I could fine. http://www.ghsa.org/html/stateinfo/laws/childsafety_laws.html Though air bags are your real concern. You owners manual should have a height recommendation for front seat riding. IN general I think the recommendation is over 13.

According to this website their is no set age.  I know our state says if there is an airbag that cannot be turned off (some trucks have this when they don't have a second row seat) they must be 12 and 85 lbs or something like that.  The airbag is the main concern.  Rear facing seats are NEVER to be by an airbag.

  • children shouldnt ride in the front bc of air bags.. well that was easy.. im 24 and 5'0 109lbs. that air bag could break my neck bc of how small i am. children are smaller then i am if not the same size. i wouldnt risk any childs life. accidents happen.
