Ovarian cyst problem

I have had an ovarian cyst on the left side for over 3 years. I am also Hpv positive... My doc sent me to see an gyno and he didn't want to remove it... I'm tired of the pain when I sneeze and when I pms and even during sex sometimes. Aren't cysts supposed to go away on their own? Should I get a second opinion? Could it be cancerous?

  • Ive had so many. mine always break. I thought I was told a long time ago that they worry when they dont? I think they said once they only remove it if it's very large. yes they are such a pain. i get them frequently. it would concern me to have one for that long. i would see another doctor if it were me.

  • HPV leads to cervical cancer, not ovarian, so the two are more than likely unrelated.
Cysts usually burst, but your doc also will not remove an otherwise healthy ovary if you are still in your child bearing years.

  • I'm not sure if they go away, both of mine ruptured but I couldn't imagine having to deal with the pain for three years. I'd deffinatly try and find another doctor.
