Which name sounds better Clancy or Crosby?

My hubby likes these two names and I'm thinking of using one of them as a middle for Ian.

Ian Clancy or Ian Crosby

  • Crosby. Clancy doesn't doesn't roll off the tongue as smoothly.

  • I like both. Especially as middle names for Ian. Between the two names (stand-alone) I think I prefer Crosby, but as middle name pairings I do really like Ian Clancy. I think it might be because I'm so familiar with hearing "Liam Clancy" (of the Clancy Brothers) who is a wonderful ballad singer, and so it just sounds especially "right."

Either name sounds great to me, though.

  • I like Ian Clancy. I like Crosby as a first name, but paired with Ian... not so much.

  • I like Ian, but the middles names sound like old men... I am sorry.

  • I like Ian Clancy. The "n" sound in the two names makes them go together, at least to my ear.
