What is the best meal plan for a 7 month old? Is two jars of baby food enough a day, or should he be getting more?

  • At this age they say to feed your baby 3 meals a day. If your baby still acts hungry then feed them. If they don't then you are doing fine. You can also introduce finger foods as snacks, and that helps them also.

  • a 7 month old should barely be introduced to solids. not eating 3 meals a day. an exclusive milk diet is still best.

  • This is my 7 month old's feeding schedule...(she eats about every 3-4 hours)
BFast - 3 tbsp cereal mixed with 2 tbsp formula & half a tub of fruit.
Lunch - 1 jar of veggies
    Snack - 6 oz formula
Dinner - Cereal & 1 Jar of the dinners (she is also in 2nd stage foods)

  • my 7 month old eats 6 oz in the morning (she refuses to eat food in the morning)
4 hrs later she has 4oz and 1 jar veggie, 1 jar fruit
4 hrs later 4 oz i jar dinner i jar fruit
    4 hrs later 6 oz.
I have no idea if that is "right" but it works for her!! go with whatever seems to be best for him. all kids have different appetites

  • Ummm actually 7 month olds should be eating 3 meals a day. They say to start introducing solids at 6 months so you are wrong for saying that formula or breastmilk is all they should be getting.

  • 6 months is the earliest you may start introduction. it's not a deadline, but a minimum. i am not wrong. delaying solids is very important for baby's digestive health. solids are an unnecessary for the first year.

  • that is such rubbish about babies not having solids for a whole year! That isnt the advice given by healthy experts at all.
