I remember having days like that.
But none so bad as one that my FIL told us about.
Lots of union type tension.
Men are complining and the shop foreman tells FIL they are going to walk out.
He asks why
Foreman says some of the men are complaining it is too hot.
So FIL goes down to the floor and looks around.
He asks who was complaining and the foreman indicates "Joe"
FIL asks if Joe is too hot and Joes says it is so hot it is about to kill him.
(Exageration on his part)
FIL says The door is closed, why don't you just open it.
Joe replies it is not in my job description.
Everyone walked out because Joe was hot not everyone and if anyone openned the door and it wasn't in their job description the union would bring suit and everyone would walk. It took a week to negotiate out with the Union who could open the doors if it was hot and who controlled whether they were

BTW temp on the floor at Joe's station was 73 degrees
