Im confused. I just read another question about 7 month meal plans and I have another question.....

as far as them having three meals a day, are you supposed to reduce bottles too? right now my daughter only eats twice a day, she doesnt eat food in the morning. should i be spreading out her bottles and having her eat food inbetween? right now she eats 6oz in the morn, 4 oz and i jar fruit and veg 4 hrs later. then one jar dinner and fruit with 4 oz four hours later, then 6 oz before bed. is that right? should she be getting less formula, or should she be eating food inbetween bottles rather then with them? this is confusing!! lol

  • They are just guidelines. you do what you feel is best. my daughter at 7 months was getting a cup of milk and a fruit then 4 hours later she ate a veggie with either a cup of milk or juice, then 4 hours later a dinner and maybe a fruit depending if she wanted more or not, then 8oz milk right before bed. so listen to your baby if they want more milk give it, if they are ok with what you are doing now, i wouldnt change anything.

  • I think you're doing fine. Babies main food source should be milk until a year old.

  • What ever works for you and your child, and your guys' schedule, so long as you are gradually stepping up the amount of food toward the age of one, you will be fine. No worries, there is no set feeding schedule or amounts, every kid is different.

  • If she is not acting hungry then you are doing a fine job. Dont reduce her bottles, I always fed my son his food in between bottles. In the morning he would have fruit and then a bottle, around nap time he would have a bottle, when he got up he would eat lunch, then about 1-2 hours later he would have a bottle and so on.

  • My 7 mo old wants her food. I asked her pedi about it today. She said as long as she is taking in about 1 1/2 oz of milk per pound than they are okay. We are eating close to 10 oz of food a day and taking in about 18 - 20 oz of formula. I hope this helped.

  • I personally combine liquid and solid feedings. I'll feed my daughter on my right breast, then feed her solids, then on my left breast. So if you're using bottles probably half a bottle, solids, then the other half. Try feeding the same amount of formula, but your feedings will probably be farther apart because the solids will fill your LO up more.
