Natural clothes detergent

My daughter came down with a bumpy rash last night and I think it's the detergent. So I was wondering about any natural detergent that actually work. Chemical free products get bad reps sometimes. Any recommendations would be appreciated .

Thank you

  • 7th Generation is pretty widely available & works pretty well. I've been using Biokleen (powder) for years with satisfaction.

I think Sun & Earth is a good detergent that's readily available at supermarkets, as well (and usually priced better than 7th Gen.) Choosing between the two brands, I go with Sun & Earth. (We're using that right now because we didn't get more Biokleen before running out all the way. Rather than going slightly out of our way to pick up some more Biokleen we just got something at the grocery store from the brands they carry. Went with Sun & Earth which I last used maybe 6 years ago; it is working very well.)

  • It might be the dye or perfume in your detergent. Try the scent free version of your favorit brand.

  • I want something. I been thinking about it for awhile. I am going to separate our clothes and see what happens. Maybe being with my clothes is not helping either.

  • sometimes if you use too much of any detergent (even natural ones) it can be a problem. I make my own with washing soda, bar castillel soap, and borax. I also add a few drops of lavendar essential oil. There are a lot of tips online on how to make it.
