I found out what that line is on my cousin's son's head

it's called a Metopic ridge
It's when the skull sutures close too early
It usually causes no issues, but the ridge can be permanent

Pic added. Not his,but looks the same

  • There's a "kid" (12) in our taekwondo school that I THINK has this. He's had a couple of surgeries, and the scars look like they're in the same place as the picture.

He wears his hair short, so his head and face deformities (minor) are pretty obvious. He's a COOL kid though, and earned his black belt a couple months ago.

  • Poor little guy. Hopefully your cousin is raising him to be confident in who he is so no ignorant people with their stupid remarks can touch him.

  • DS had it but his was the Sagital suture. He had surgery on his head at 4 months old. Scariest thing I have ever been through. Is he going to have the surgery or is his not that bad?

  • DD had that.  Below is the first picture I found that it was pretty obviously there...straight on pictures seemed to look more like it was there only because of flash reflection.  Anyway, she's 7 and thankfully it's gone now.

  • I hope it flattens out as his head grows
his brother is favored over him,so I can imagine he'll be teased by him
