I got two positive HPTS today but a negative digital?!

I took two regular pregnancy tests today...

One at around noon and it was faintly positive and then I went and got First Response because I've hear they're more accurate and it was an even darker positive at 3.

Took a digital first response and it was negative.

What gives?

  • I'd schedule an appointment with your doctor for a blood test.

  • "I'd schedule an appointment with your doctor for a blood test."

But why? False positives are rare, she's had two. The third test was likely negative due to diluted urine (OP, did you drink water to be able to take the third test?)

  • I didn't drink water to be able to take the next test, I've been peeing like seabiscuit lol! However, instead of holding the test in the urine stream I always collect from a cup and I wasn't able to collect much urine with the third one so I guess that must've done it now that I think about it. I took yet another HPT and it came out faintly positive again! Guess I was kind of in denial. So excited! Thanks for the answers ladies :D

  • The digitals aren't as sensitive, even from the same brand. The regular tests can give a positive at 25 mIU/ml. Digital test won't give a postive until about 50mIU/ml.
