How do I get my son to eat vegables?

My son will be 1 April 20th. He will not eat veggies. I try mixing them with apple sauce and other fruits but he just spits them out. He's not a picky eater, he tries everything. Are there spices or a different way to cook them? Right now I just warm the veggies up so they are on the softer side.

  • I cut veggies like sweet potato (cut like fries), broccoli, cauliflower..and toss them with olive oil and roast them at 400 degrees. My dd loves them. Cook until they are brown around edges and soft. I have had luck with putting food on her tray and letting her play with it and try it at her own pace.

  • Keep offering.

  • What veggies are you trying? My kids loved beans (not veggies I know, but they are nutritious) of all types. You can add a little butter or a pinch of salt as long as you don't go overboard.

  • Try offering them first, when you know he's hungry, instead of with other foods. Or letting him dip them in sour cream or melted cheese. I also used to mix pureed veggies into meatloaf, stuffing, or mashed potatoes.
