5 Bumps

Would you consider this cruel punishment?

Recording your kid throwing a tantrum and then showing it to them. My daughter usually throws tantrums for a good half an hour. I started recording them and showing them to her and now she stops after ten minutes when I show them to her over and over.

It works!

  • How is watching yourself on tv a punishment?

  • No, LOL. We have a video of my youngest son flipping out, and about 30 seconds into it, he realizes I have my phone in my hand, and asks me "What are you doing?! Tell me! I really want to know!!" It is still one of my favorite videos.

  • Cruel? No. It's just showing how ridiculous their behavior is.. And f they're embarrassed by watching it - they'll stop doing it all together. I like your idea!

  • Cruel, no. I'm not sure my daughter would take it as a punishment, though. She'd probably ham it up and think it was cool!

  • Nope. We've done it before.

  • It is not actually a punishment. It is just showing her how silly she is acting. It wont work for long.

  • It may work for a short time.
Maybe try teaching your child in another way that that behavior is unacceptable.
