What kind of litter to use after de-clawing?

The vet said oatmeal or newspaper...but that can be pretty messy. And last time we got a cat de-clawed she wouldn't use it. Is there a type of litter I can use?

  • If you've already declawed: the Feline Pine sawdust kind. There is a pellet kind and a sawdust kind. I think Feline Pine makes the sawdust kind as well as another brand. I get it at Pet Pros.

  • Stop getting cats if you feel the need to declaw them.

  • I don't know, what kind of toilet paper would you like after having your nails ripped out?

  • I had a friend with de-clawed cats and they used normal litter. But I also vote not to de-claw that cat as well.
