  • All babies are different. Are you giving him rice cereal before bed? He will sleep longer on a full stomach. My third child is four months and he sleeps a good twelve hours. He is my good baby. LoL. He takes four short, and I mean short naps a day. It all depends on the baby. If he's not cranky and he's doing fine, whatever is normal for him..

  • I found this site to be helpful:

Around 5 months, most kids start taking 3 naps a day.  They can be 45 minutes long (the length of an average sleep cycle) or longer.

  • My son will be 6 months and usually only wakes up about 3 or 4 am. Now as far as naps, I dont go on a schedule, I just put him down when hes tired and he sleeps for about 15-20 minutes.

  • Five hours is considered sleeping through the night.

Cereal may or may not make babies sleep...we did an unscientific survey on the breastfeeding moms group and found that the vast majority of babies there slept LESS when cereal was given at bedtime. (Here, solids were a guarantee of hourly waking.)

    Naps? Mine didn't nap.
