Does anyone else get terrible stomach pains after eating Ramen Noodles? adult content

I was eating them for lunch for a week. Then I started to get terrible gas pains. Even after I have a bowel movement the gas builds up again & today 4 days after eating the last one, I am in such pain I can hardly sit. It's like lower intestinal. I don't use the whole flavor packet just less than 1/2. I think it's the noodles causing it.

Have you ever had pains after eating these noodles?

  • This is going to sound really stupid, but if I eat any brand other than Top Ramen the same thing happens to me. Not for four days, but essentially the same symptoms for the remainder of the day. Needless to say I don't eat ramen often.

  • I've never had that brand, only Maruchan, but never had that reaction to it.

  • Yes. Fat and sodium, probably MSG as well.

  • It's probably the MSG in it. It's called Chinese Takeout syndrome. It's not a real syndrome but people just call it that to refer to the reaction to MSG that a lot of Chinese foods used to have. You'd get a better meal using frozen veggies and precooked chicken or eating a Healthy Choice frozen meal.
