Weird rash adult content

My 8 year old DS has what appears to be very dry skin on the underside of his penis, testicles, and insides of his thighs. It feels and looks like shrunken skin, only hard. He hasn't had any visible rash at all, but started saying that it burns about 2 days ago and now the skin appears like this. I have been applying cornstarch because it seemed to ease the burning and I assumed it must be heat rash because he's been playing outside a lot and its been hot.

I'm planning on calling the ped in the morning and asking if he needs to be seen, I just would like to know if any other moms have experienced this with their kids.

  • He's chaffing. Happened BAD to my husband once, when he was working 16 hour days doing outdoor construction in the summer. Get some A&D ointment.

  • Gold Bond sells lotions and body powder to keep you dry, relieve itch and prevent and heal chafing. Just check out all their products and there's even a $1.00 coupon on the home page

  • I'd put something benign on it like Vaseline jelly or Aquaphor. Something with no scent or other irritants. Cornstarch is good but could add to drying. Gold Bond is a good idea too as long as it doesn't sting.
