Can you explain how gun control would have prevented the recent stabbing at a college that allowed no guns on campus? What happened on that campus is because of too much gun control. Are we now going to have blade control?

I find it interesting that there are no statistics on how many violent crime and murders are prevented because of a legally owned firearm. I suppose we should ignore statistics on how many guns are legally privately owned by law abiding American citizens vs. how many of those legally owned guns are used in violent crimes. Do we have a valid statistic on how many of our gun crimes are committed with a legally owned firearm vs. how many of those guns that are stolen or illegally possessed?
It also might help if the states and cities with the strictest gun laws would actually prosecute gun crimes, but they don't.
