Do you think a laptop backpack is any different than a regular backpack?

  • Laptop backpacks typically have more padding to protect a computer.

  • Yes. One designed for laptops is more padded and has a specific place for the laptop so it doesn't bang around in a larger pocket, like it would in a regular backpack.

  • There is a difference, yes. My kids have regular backpacks, I have one for laptops. Mine has extra padding all around, plus a "wall" inside it that is also padded, so I can slip the laptop in there and it won't be harmed by books or whatever on the other side of that "wall."

  • Much different, as already said. They're worth having, although I prefer the messenger style for my laptop because it feels safer for whatever reason.

  • Oh, yes. My son and husband both have Targus laptop backpacks with a padded compartment for the laptop and a webbed pocket for the power supply.
