1 Bump

8 year old with very itchy head? I am stumped.

No rash, no bugs, lol, no new shampoo.
I washed and rinsed his hair with tea tree shampoo, and with a good conditioner.
He is scratching his head till it almost bleeds, but there is no sign of rash etc.
Any ideas?

  • Going on or off meds might do it. I took an antidepressant once that made my head itch like that, to where I couldn't stop scratching it and I had to go off the medication.

  • Does he drink enough water? Dehydration causes severe itching.

  • No new pillow or pillow case, or laundry soap? No new hair gel or whatever kids use nowadays?

  • Nothing, when I am anxious my head itches, but there isn't a flake to be found, he is scratching like he has fleas? About 2 weeks ago the doctor did take him of his meds, This just started 3 days ago, do you think your head could itch from allergies to the outdoors? We have had alot of rain etc. and my nose has been stuffy from allergies as well as his.

  • No Nanny he does not drink enough water, he loves milk etc. I would think that it would make your entire body itch though? It really is just his head, he is doing his homework now, and scratching like crazy. I am going to give him some sudafed before bed, IDK?
