  • Yes, paid off some other bills so we would only have one payment instead of 5. This was back before home prices went to crap.

  • yeah- we had a pool put in and paid off our cars with it.
    When housing started going bad- we moved out of state, and the pool is the thing that made our house sell (there were a few others in the area with our floorplan for sale)

  • We refinanced our old house two or three times. The first was because we'd bought it with very little money down and it was a fixer upper, so when we remodeled it, we had it reappraised and refinanced it to drop our PMI. After that, we refinanced to shorten our term to a bi-weekly 15 year, and again when the rates dropped.
    We've refinanced our current house once to drop the rate.
