My husband wants to buy....

A gun! He is trying to get an armed security job but he doesn't know if the company will hire him yet. So today he went to look at guns and I asked him was he looking at guns for work if he gets the job and he tells me no he was just looking to get one just because. I told him I am not too sure I feel comfortable with a gun in the house since my 7 year old is autistic and gets.into EVERYTHING! And on top of that, my husband is not responsible. He will forget his head if it wasn't attached to him. So yeah I could imagine him leaving the gun not locked up or being dumb and cleaning it around the kids. I am just not comfortable with this. How can we come to a decision about this?

my ex husband wasn't. he shot a whole through his knee when he was cleaning his gun (the kids and i weren't home) sadly enough he was in the army and he'd had extensive training on the proper care and usage of guns. can't fix stupid!

  • If he isn't responsible enough to care for a gun at home then he is not responsible enough to take the security guard job.

  • They will provide him some kind of locker etc. at work, make sure he leaves it there, but to be honest if you really think he isn't responsible, this isn't the job for him.
