"Blocked" appears on phone? I don't know exactly what this means?

Over the past 2 days I have been getting phone calls from "Blocked" I have never blocked anyone from my phone, does this mean they are blocking me from seeing the number?
I thought that came up as "Unknown" when you star #67 something?
Anyone have any clue? I haven't been able to answer when they have called, I plan on it, but find it very strange.

  • Mine actually shows private numbers as 'restricted'. Weird. Maybe it depends on the carrier of the caller (what word they use to indicate is it a private number). Weird that they aren't leaving a message. If I get a call from an unknown number I let it go to voicemail. There are some telemarketing that has my cell number for some reason and I get these automated calls about lowering interest rates on credit cards, or how I won a free cruise - all I have to do is attend a time share meeting for 3 hours or something stupid.

  • Maybe it's a sneaky Telemarketer!

  • Most bill collectors use it, otherwise nobody would ever answer the phone

This has been my experience. When I got a new phone recently I got several blocked calls from creditors/bill collectors that were for the person who previously had my number

  • My husband just said it is probably someone from the No-call list, as in selling things. I guess we signed up for it, they shouldn't be calling, but are still able, hopefully I can answer it today and see if or what it is, he also said it could be someone from jail, who has the wrong number, to my knowledge I don't know anyone in jail.
A star #67 comes up as unknown, we just tried it, LOL!
