Starting Birth Control without a period?

So I haven't had a period since before I was pregnant with my son because I've BFed for 15 months. We are about to wean him and I will start regular BC. I know for a fact I'm not pregnant. But I read somewhere you start BC on the first day of your period? What if you don't have one yet? Do I wait until I start or can I go ahead and start taking it?

  • After child birth and nursing the pill will start your cycle and keep you on a cycle. Don't worry, it's totally normal and safe.
