  • It means the same thing it means everywhere else on the internet.

  • It is someone who just wants to cause trouble.

  • It means people who are just looking to start something, usually not being that serious about the question, or fishing for attention.  Sometimes people ask a question they already know the answer to or with the intent not to listen to any advice they ask for either, so people will call them a troll.

  • Look, we offended a noob (what else is new).

    Internet Troll:
A person whose sole purpose in life is to seek out people to argue with on the internet over extremely trivial issues. Such arguments can happen on blogs, Facebook, Myspace and a host of others.
The best thing you can do to fight an internet troll is to not answer..or report them.

Also, from my Answers experiences: a troll can also be a regular who snaps and is forced to leave or deletes on their own free will and, then comes back under a new SN, does not tell anyone who they were (and possibly even lies about it when directly asked). Then proceeds to make up stories (to hide who they really are) or goes on to stalk and/or harass those they think "wronged them" when they snapped.
