you can require background checks until the cows come home... criminals will circumvent the system (as they do now) and not jump through the hoops (criminals don't like hoops) and still get the guns they want when they want them and use them however they please! Registered, legal, licensed guns or not, last I checked it was illegal to shoot at the police.
There are laws that regulate HOW guns are to be used - you know like for protecting yourself and hunting and hobby
and how they are NOT to be used - like shooting people indiscriminately, or out of hate or disdain, or shooting at cops

Criminals do not follow rules! PERIOD! that's what makes them C-R-I-M-I-N-A-L-S!

  • Woah, most criminals don't.

  • They weren't exactly the law-abiding type.

  • If only we'd had stricter background checks...oh, wait...

  • I'd already read this and wondered if anyone was actually surprised. They also didn't have a license to build and make bombs but they had those as well. Didn't have a license to carjack somebody either. When will people get it that it doesn't matter if you obtain a license or not. If you want to kill, maim, etc you'll do it regardless.

  • Shocker... But then again criminals aren't law-abiding citizens and could care less about gun control laws.

  • Hmmm...Maybe they can add that to the other more serious charges. Kinda like adding a ticket for a broken tail light to a vehicular homicide charge- it really doesn't matter.

  • I'm wondering if they will prosecute him on violating gun laws. Seems that the states with the strictest gun laws many times fail to prosecute gun crimes. No use making more policies that they refuse to enforce.
