Is it a bad idea to send emotional texts to my STBX?

3 yrs ago today he was in a horrible cycle accident. i almost lost him. now today, well, you all know what I am going through...
But I have this text typed out to him that says "Funny how life changes. 3 yrs ago today I was crying because I thought you were going to die. Now I am crying because you are fine living without me."

I am feeling so sad today. I haven't cried for a few days but today I'm a wreck. Should I send the text or not?

  • Yeah, not a great idea. Don't give him the satisfaction.

  • Honey, don't give him the satisfaction. It's okay to feel that way, but he's treated you despicably. Besides, he could save the texts if he wanted ammo later. It doesn't sound like he would try to take the kids from you, but men have been known to do it just to get at their ex wives, so don't give him anything he can use against you.

  • NO, don't give him any emotional power over you.

  • Do not send it. Not only will it only make you feel worse, but it will give him a big boost knowing that you're still all torn up over him. Don't give him that satisfaction. He's a total ass, and you are better than him.

  • STBX - at first I thought that meant Starbucks ...

It gets easier when there is someone new in your life ~

    Get out there and circulate!

  • I am trying to get out there. Friday night I went to a comedy thing with my best friend and a couple friends. Sunday I spent the day with 2 friends in Long Beach. It was my first weekend without any of the kids and it was weird yet nice. I felt better when I was out & about but today I am back in our home dealing with being depressed. I hope it gets better when I move out next month.
