  • I did the retail store set up for Cabela's when it opened here.
We had to have PETA training on how to handle protesters.
People who live in big cities (say NYC for example- and this is not a call out or anything) who have never even SEEN a real live deer liked to come and protest about slaughtering animals, hunting for sport, etc. They're ALL Bambi to them!
What they don't realize (because they don't live here) is the damage the deer population can do! Thousands of $$ in crop damage will put a farm into bankruptcy, and raise local produce prices. They've never hit a deer with their car (or have the deer hit them, more often) and watch their insurance premiums rise. Most hunters around here eat what they kill, providing for their family (keeping them off welfare!), and if they don't, it gets donated to a food bank to feed the less fortunate.
So the point of my rant is... do not speak of things which you know nothing about!

  • Did you ever hear the radio show where the woman was trying to get her town to over the deer crossing signs because it was too dangerous for the deer to cross there. She thought the sign was actually directing the deer.

  • I had a gardern when I was in NC. A neighborhood boy was so excited when he found out we had a green bean plant (s) in the backyard and wanted to see. He was stunnedwhen we showed him the beans growing on a vine. He told us we had lied to him because green beans come in a can and everybody knows it.

  • I worked in a meat processing plant and I can say that watching a rod go into a cows head, while it's standing in a holding chamber so it can't move is a hell of a lot worse than a hunter taking a kill shot that's precise, and the animal doesn't have a clue what's coming, and there's a lot less, if any suffering.....

As for the above ad/post, ignorance is bliss..........
