what foods should you not make when making your own baby food?

i have heard carrots and sweet potatoes because of the nitrates but what about broccoli, corn, rice, etc? anyone got any helpful tips on this? thanks.

  • I have also heard carrots because of nitrates, but I've never heard anything about sweet potatoes....And as for corn, it really doesn't have any nutritional value, and I wouldn't feed it to a baby. is a GREAT resource for making your own food....

  • yeah sweet potatoes are supposed to be good for them from what I heard. I like that site too...I was just on it today

  • I've heard the carrots and nitrates thing too, but I haven't heard anything about sweet potatoes. I wouldn't do broccoli for a while because it's a really gassy veggie and might upset your LO's tummy.
