Small vent. It's MY Facebook page. I should be able to post anything I choose

as long as it doesn't go against FB guidelines
I put up a pic of dog butt Jesus(I'd post it but it doesn't show up on here for some reason). My cousin commented that she was raised to see the image of Jesus in a more positive light, but she could see how some people could find it funny. I LOL'ed because I could feel her disdain.
So if someone sees Jesus on a piece of toast,He is speaking to that person, but if someone sees Jesus in a dog's butt fur,He's not? lol
I was left thinking, does she not see the theme of some of my stuff? Liberal, free thinker, and pagan-esque?
i'm betting she assumes everyone is Christian, and that's just sad.

  • Nowadays people seem to jump to getting "offended" simply over things that they don't agree with.

  • You could always return the favor - if she posts anything political or religious, comment on how you were raised to accept everyone equally, but you can see how some people can view it differently.

  • See,when someone posts something I find distasteful,I click HIDE. I don't chastise them for posting it
    ****

maybe it is because I don't know her personally, but I honestly don't see how her comment was chastising - she even said she could see how some might find it funny...

    I dunno...

I agree with NP, when she posts just comment with disdain.

  • I don't care what people post so my fb feed will be what I want to post. If they don't like it unfriendly me. I've had a few people who get very vocal on my post for equality. Well I don't flip out and comment on thier biblical marriage post. But I have unfriended people I just can't stand seeing thier imo hateful post.

  • It's just FB.... I can't ever bring myself to get too twisted over any posts, theirs or mine. In a lot of ways, FB is a silent communicator. There is no tone of voice, body language, etc to fully give anyone the true essence of what someone is saying, so getting upset is usually based on big assumptions. My personal reaction to your picture is I don't really want to look at a dog's butt for any reason... I don't care if he's crapping gold bricks!! LOL But your cousin's comment was fairly benign... So, she prefers to see Jesus in a more positive light. Nothing wrong with that. She might have made an equal remark about Jesus on toast...
