So we need tighter gun laws? adult content

A man in Salt Lake City Utah went into the store bought a knife then started stabbing random people, when a man with a gun stopped him before the man with the knife found his next victim.

Didn't something similar to this happen on a college campus some where recently? If we make it hard for regular citizens to own guns, will mass stabbings start happening more frequently? If so are we going to put laws on knives?

LINK to the stabbing in Utah,  he only got to two people before a citizen armed with a gun stopped him.  He didn't shoot him, he just aimed the gun and held him at gun point until the staff of the grocery store restrained him.

  • I just don't get why we have to debate this here CONSTANTLY. No one is going to change their minds.....people on both sides of the issue are firmly entrenched in their beliefs on the matter.

  • Don't worry Prissy the "other" side will chime in with a story soon.

  • People should stop compare insane people with knives to insane people with guns. In the time it took for somebody to injure two people with a knife, he could have shot off a couple hundred rounds and killed dozens. Comparing knives to guns adds nothing to the debate regardless of which side you're on.

  • I don't think the issue is guns altogether just high powered assault riffles. If we could get on the same page and just ban high power assault riffles then that would satisfy all party's,,,,

  • Pinkparcel, there is no way all parties can ever be satisfied. Most people are so far to one side or the other, they won't ever consider meeting anywhere near the middle.

  • I wonder if the nut job with the knife had suffered from serious mental health problems, and maybe his family had been trying to get him help for years without success. That seems to me to be the common thread in the stories we hear about people committing random acts of violence.

  • I love this from the comments under the article:

"A knife is only a weapon when it's in the hand of a criminal. But a gun is a weapon no matter what. Because guns are inherently evil. Especially when they're black guns."
