What will relieve the pain from stepping on a stinging caterpillar?

I told her not to go outside without her shoes on, and she didn't listen. She stepped on one of those nasty stinging caterpillars. I put cortisone 10 on it, but she claims that isn't helping. It's red and slightly swollen.

I have her laying beside me. She's never been stung by anything so I want to keep and eye on her for allergic reaction.

Anyways, any suggestions on what to do to relieve the pain?

  • I thought about that, but she won't let me touch it. It's so swollen. I'm glad it was only that and not a scorpion. Hate hate seeing her in pain, but I do think she has learned a valuable lesson.

  • I have never heard of a stinging caterpillar here in NY! Maybe Google it? Do you have Lanacane first aid spray? Call your local Pharmacist & ask them what to use.

  • I'm on hold with minor care right now. I'm going to take her in. The swelling is scaring me.
