It's been a very long time since I went to a bridal shower. I thought it would be kind of boring, but we had so much fun. There was a game where the mother of the bride-to-be would call out the name of a random item, and we all had to dig forit in our purses. The first one to find the item was a winner, and the moms of young kids won, hands down. The younger women had cute little purses with nothing more in them than compacts and billfolds, and the mamas had cups, spoons, wet wipes, needle and thread, Band-Aids, crayons, and on and on.
Then a couple of us got to be brides, and the rest had to make dresses for us out of toilet paper, clothespins, ribbons, and dried flowers. It was rather like being mummified, and then the designers had to describe their masterpieces--there were a lot of comments about going green, biodegradable clothes, and such.
