  • this is more fast paced than groups...or maybe I should say it used to be!
answers does not have a quote button, so it can make following a question a little tricky- we have to cut and paste the quotes ourselves and they don't go in a fancy little box like they do in groups.
also the points system- there are none in groups (not that they mean anything or are worth anything- they aren't)
    ...what else...
    *thinking...

  • You don't have to 'join' and there are so many different categories. It's easier to come here and just have everything in one place instead of having several specific interest groups.

  • You can ask and answer questions about a range of topics from one page here, instead of joining specific groups for each topic you want to discuss. I've found that answers are given more quickly here, but discussions are also started and finished more quickly. So a topic that might take a week or more to run its course in a group is old news in a day or two here.

  • You aren't encouraged to be a twat to increase page views and ad revenues here. If you're reported for abuse in Answers, eventually they'll suspend your acct, take away anon, or even delete your acct completely. In groups they look the other way. We don't have dedicated admins (anymore) who will get to know people and play favorites. They hate everyone equally here.
