Appropriate gift for a baptism?

My brother and his partner are having their foster son baptized tomorrow. Because of family conflict, I don't think I can drag myself to the ceremony, I just don't. But I got to thinking maybe I can send a gift, since I do care about the kid and I might as well leave the door cracked slightly open on the very slim chance that the disagreement may eventually be settled. Does anybody know what might be appropriate as a baptism gift for a three-year-old boy?

  • Things remembered has great keepsake gifts, to get engraved, or a Bible, such as a Precious Moments Bible. I also love the savings bond idea.

  • I think a gift is a great idea. A piece of jewelry, like a necklace is a nice keepsake. My kids received gifts of money from many relatives and friends which we deposited into a college fund for them.

  • I like a children's book of stories or the savings bond. I also like a child's cross for the wall.
