Another reason to wear gloves when you garden.....

I was outside with my Son taking a walk & saw that a few perennials needed cutting back. So I got a long knife from the shed & started cutting. I said "PU what is that poop smell?" & my son said "ewww, I smell it too!" Well smack dab in the middle of cutting I realized I was chopping up cat SHIT! We have neighborhood cats roaming around! Yup all over my hands & under my nails! EWWWWWeee! I ran in, washed & used antibacterial. Now I am imagining I'll get a worm! JK! GROSS!

So, do you wear gloves when you garden? LOL!

  • I don't garden ever. I've watched too many episodes of Monsters Inside Me to dig in the dirt, LOL.

  • I wear gloves, but I have a hard time forcing myself to wear them. I knew a lady who was bit by a brown recluse spider that had taken up residence in her glove. Now I viciously shake my gloves before I put them on.

  • I don't wear gloves because I can't feel what I'm cutting an planting. I've touched poop before. I'm not a fan.

  • Yes! I don't like getting dirt underneath my fingernails.

  • I dislike wearing gloves but will if I know I am working in a really gross spot(under bushes).

  • Unless I am messing with my roses, no I do not. Now unless you put your poopy hand in your mouth. I doubt you could get worms.

  • I don't have a home garden, but I am responsible for the garden at the school I work at. We only have so many gloves (ones that I have purchased), so if we have a volunteer group come by to help in the garden, then I typically go without gloves. If it's just me, then yes I wear gloves.

  • If I'm doing more than pulling a couple of weeds as I go past, I go get the gloves.
