what happens if i left out the vegtable oil in a cake recipie?

  • crumble it, mix it in a bowl with a can of frosting. mold into little balls and dip them in melted chocolate with a tooth pick. Makes little cake balls. More work but problem solved!

  • I like But_Mommie's idea. Or crumble the cake, mix it in a bowl with the pudding flavor of your choice, the layer it with whipped cream and some kind of pie filling to make a trifle.

  • Serbian ingredients are in a receipts for a reason.  To make it taste good.  You might be able to subsutute something else for the oil.

  • Substitute an equal amount of applesauce for the oil, it will be moist and delicious.

  • trinasyaya, I just realized that you've probably already made the cake and left out the oil by accident. If you have, I would make up a small box of jello, poke holes in the cake with a chop stick or a wooden spoon handle, and pour the jello over it, this then chill, jello poke cakes are delicious and it will moisten the cake.

    If the cake is chocolate, use some instant pudding in place of the jello.
